All our group sessions are drop in sessions, no commitment required - just turn up! Come by the courts and ask for Mike Henneberry or Lynley with any questions.

Over the years the team at Ahwatukee Tennis has developed hundreds of Collegiate tennis players and multiple National finalists and National Champions. At Ahwatukee Tennis, we offer expert coaching and engaging programs designed for players of all levels to enhance their skills and enjoy the game.

Mike Henneberry

Coach Mike played at Northern Arizona University (NAU)

and tallied an 18-5 (.783)

record during the 1984

season earning

co-Big Sky Most Valuable Player Honors. 

He also earned two Big Sky Conference, Most Valuable Player awards and three Championships at Northern Arizona University. 

Coach Mike Henneberry was the Lumberjacks’ first league MVP. 

Henneberry has been coaching tennis for over 45+ years and has helped develop over 100+ Collegiate tennis players, multiple finalist tennis players, and National tennis champions. 

Lynley (Wasson) Bailey
Lynley (Wasson) Bailey

Lynley Wasson played a year at D1 then went on to Mesa Community College for a season and was then picked up and finished with University of Houston.

The Arizona native has strong credentials after winning three consecutive Arizona 5A state championships in high school including a 93-match winning streak.

She also was ranked at one point in the Top 50 #38 under the U18 United States Tennis Association (USTA) rankings. Lynley was consistently #1 or #2 in the South West District.

Coach Mike MacKay was born and raised here in Arizona.

2-time singles State Champ

#1 ranked Junior in the Southwest last year of 16’s and both years in the 18’s division

Doubles Finalist in 18’s division at Kalamazoo Nat’l Championships.

Ranked as high as #2 in the Nation for doubles. Made it to #53 in singles.

Graduated from the University of Arizona. Played #3-4 singles and #1 doubles his Senior year.

Teaching tennis for 25 years.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I pay for group classes?

We accept venmo, zelle or cash. Just fill out the form on which day you or your child will be attending.

Pictures & Video

We reserve the right to take pictures and video to promote our tennis classes to other parents in need of tennis lessons for their children via our website and social media platforms. If you do not want your child recorded please let the camera man/lady know during practice. Thank you!

Do you provide tennis rackets?

We have a few tennis rackets on hand for you to borrow, but we recommend you come with your own racket. If you aren't sure what to buy then come by the courts for the first time and ask one of our coaches what to buy.

Do I need to make a reservation?

For group sessions and clinics they are all drop in, no reserverations required, just turn up at the courts at the times listed above. We welcome players of all levels. You will be grouped by level during the class.

If you want to reserve a court to practice outside of the sessions or clinics then you will need to become a member of the Ahwatukee Tennis club: https://ahwatukeecommunitycenter.com/tennis-club-memberships/
